It's been estimated that over half of all adults grind their teeth at night. In addition to discomfort of the jaw and muscles that this can cause, it can also damage your teeth or dental work. Night guards can help to prevent a number of symptoms and consequences of nighttime grinding or clenching: Cracked or chipped teeth Teeth sensitive to heat or cold Jaw pain (TMJ) Headaches Popping of the jaw joint Night guards are molded from a hard durable plastic to fit the shape of your teeth. Dr. Peterson takes an impression of your teeth and sends it to a dental lab to create a custom fit guard for you.

Sports Guards

Dr. Peterson provides custom fitted sports guards for junior sports and for professional heavy contact sports. Mouth guards should be worn during practices as well as during competition. Mouth guards can prevent broken teeth, concussions, injuries to the lips, tongue, face and jaw. If properly fitted, a sports guard will stay in place while being worn and allow you to talk and breath more easily.
